A 15-yr-frail boy has died and a 14-yr-frail girl is in a severe situation after falling into a quarry.
The incident took space conclude to Limekiln Road in Abersychan, Torfaen, on Wednesday evening.
The boy, from Pontypool, died on the scene.
The girl, from Blaenavon, is being treated at College Health heart of Wales in Cardiff after being airlifted from the quarry.
One councillor said the incident will have “have reverberations within the course of Blaenavon and Abersychan”.
The Welsh Ambulance Provider said it got a 999 call at 18: 30 BST, while South Wales Fire and Rescue Provider said it sent two crews to the scene.
