Actor Siddharth has been summoned in reference to his tweet on ace shuttler Saina Nehwal. The Chennai Police Commissioner said on Thursday that two complaints be pleased been received against the actor in this regard.
“Actor Siddharth has been summoned [over his tweet on Saina Nehwal]. We be pleased in point of fact received two complaints. We ideal need his assertion,” said Chennai Police Commissioner Shankar Jiwal.
The Chennai Police Commissioner also said that one amongst the 2 cases entails defamation.
He added, “Attributable to the Covid-19 pandemic, we’re concerned with how you can receive the assertion. We’ve summoned actor Siddharth”.
SIDDHARTH’S TWEET ON SAINA NEHWAL
Relating to the protection breach intelligent Top Minister Narendra Modi, Saina Nehwal wrote on Twitter, “No Nation can claim itself to be rating if the protection of its own PM will get compromised. I condemn, within the strongest words possible, the cowardly assault on PM Modi by anarchists (sic).”
To this, Siddharth reacted, “Subtle cock champion of the enviornment… Thank God we’ve protectors of India. Shame on you #Rihanna (sic).”
Many, including Nehwal’s husband and fellow badminton player Parupalli Kashyap, criticised the actor for the character of his remarks.
The actor later issued a clarification asserting: “COCK & BULL That’s the reference. Studying in every other case is unfair and leading! Nothing disrespectful changed into as soon as supposed, said or insinuated. Period (sic),” he wrote.
Siddharth later apologised and said, “I’m able to also simply disagree with you on many issues, but even my disappointment or madden after I read your tweet, can not define my tone and words.”
