(CNN)Jeff Green, reportedly certainly one of the most richest folks from Utah, has formally left The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and is donating $600,000 to Equality Utah, per a letter got by CNN. Equality Utah describes itself as, “Utah’s Premier LGBTQ Civil Rights Organization.”
Within the letter dated Thursday and addressed to President Russell Nelson, Green defined that he unofficially left the church about a decade ago and has correct nowadays, “requested the elimination” of his records.
Green cited the church’s wealth, and its “unhealthy paradigms around gender roles” as about a of the reasons why he left.
“The church has been filthy rich for many generations and yet does not quit in relation to as grand because it can presumably presumably,” Green talked about. “Given you notify to indicate the need of God and act as a particular peep of Jesus, the Mormon church desires to be doing extra to be taught the sphere and its participants with its wealth.”

Green is worth $5.2 billion per Forbes. His firm, The Alternate Desk, of which he is CEO and chairman, had $836 million in earnings in 2020 per Forbes. Ian Colley, the senior vice president of communications and editor in chief of The Alternate Desk, confirmed in an email to CNN that Green is donating $600,000 to Equality Utah.
